The House

Quintamar was constructed in 2004 on the ruins of a derelict farmhouse in the natural reservation area of Ria Formosa in the Eastern Algarve. Quintamar comprises four fully equipped self-catering houses with two or three bedrooms in each, which can accommodate in total up to 24 people in total. All the houses have sea views and overlook the quiet and idyllic surroundings. The houses are ample and offer all modern comforts (fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, SKYTV, DVD, Wireless internet).

A biological lake for swimming

In front of the house lies a 300m2 biological swimming lake, a natural attraction for wildlife all around the year and a great place for swimming for all ages. There are no chemicals, as the ecosystem and plants regenerate the water. A variety of birds including Egrets, Moorhens, Kingfishers, Doves, House Martins, Hoopoes and Bee-eaters visit the lake and surroundings – attracted by the frog chorus’ an ongoing source of entertainment experienced from the lakeside, terraces and lawns just metres away.
